Marie Schmeusser Burdett

Marie Burdett, age 79 of Demopolis passed away peacefully at home on March 5, 2016 in the presence of her family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 8 at 1:00PM.  The family will receive visitors at the home of Diane and Brian Brooker (310 S. Main Ave.-Demopolis) on Monday March 7, 2016, 5:30-7:00PM.  Marie was a loving mother and grandmother and served as an active member of the Demopolis First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her three daughters, Monica Wilson (Gary), Connie Burdett, and Diane Brooker (Brian); her two sons, Russell L. Burdett II (Denice) and Christopher Burdett; as well as thirteen grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister LuiseHorr; nieces Petra Galsterer (Herbert) and Barbie Appis (Norbert) all of Furth, Germany.  Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Russell L. Burdett and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Schmeusser of Furth, Germany.  Honorary pallbearers include Joyce Hitt, Katrina Stapp, Rosie Simmons and the members of the United Methodist Women.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church or Southern Care Hospice.
