Jackie Horton

Jackie Horton, age 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 11, 2025. He was born on May 3, 1941, to his parents, James Clifford Horton and Elizabeth Horton, both have preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by is loving wife, Betty Lou Horton; son, Trex Horton; and brother, Belcher Horton.

Jackie is survived by his daughters, Roxy Shuttlesworth (Bobby), Tracy O’Neal (David); son, Shane Horton; brothers, Wayne Horton (Sandra), Zeke Horton (Rosie), Lynn Horton (Melissa); sister, Edna Smitherman (Bobby); 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A visitation for Jackie will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at New Life Baptist Church starting at 1:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Jackie will be laid to rest in Pineland Memorial Park.  Brother Bobby O’Dell and Brother Brooks Shoults will be officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jason Smitherman, Job Horton, Jamie Horton, Dusty Horton, Greg Horton, and Cade Horton. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Murphy, Clint Murphy, Dion Horton, and Forest Murphy.
