Ashlee Nicole Lowery Polzin
Ashlee Nicole Lowery Polzin, loving mother, daughter, and granddaughter passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the age of 41. She was born in Birmingham on July 11, 1982 to Julie Golden DePew and Lyn Edward Lowery. Ashlee was the loving mother of Braydon and Lacey. She attended Homewood High School and pursued her undergraduate education at Jefferson State Community College and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Ashlee was gifted in fine arts from a young age, with a focus on ballet through her teenage years. She also learned piano and classical guitar, and developed a love for theater, becoming a member of the Thespian Society. She enjoyed arts and crafts, and cooking, but especially looked forward to bowling and fishing with her dad and children. Her true joy in life were her children, cherishing every moment with them. Cheering them on at their various sports activities was a particular treasure of hers. Ashlee had a deep love for her children, family and close friends and cherished their time together. She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Birmingham, AL.
Ashlee is survived by her son, Braydon Chase Lowery; daughter, Lacey Elizabeth Polzin; mother, Julie Golden DePew (Melvin); stepsister, Jessica Frances Boyer; stepbrother, Sean Michael DePew; grandmother, Bobbie Lacey Lowery; aunts, Tommie Lacey Brokaw and Jackie Golden Dunnaway, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Lyn Edward Lowery and uncles, Barry Alan Brokaw and Charles Dunnaway.
A visitation will be held at 9:00 am to 10: 00 am, November 3, 2023 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church; followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 am (5514 Double Oak Lane, Birmingham, AL 35242) The Rite of Committal will be held at a later date in Elmwood Cemetery.
