Beatrice Margaret Gerstner Ross

May 6, 1930 – February 7, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Beatrice Margaret Gerstner Ross, on February 7, 2026, at the age of 95. She was a source of unwavering love, kindness, and strength to all who knew her. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and selfless nature touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts that will never fade. She devoted her life to her family and cherished every moment spent together. Her wisdom, guidance, and unconditional support shaped us into who we are today.

Bea was born on May 6, 1930, to Leonard and Elizabeth Gerstner in Dodsland, Saskatchewan, Canada. She is preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Turner Edgar Ross, and her grandson, Turner Micheal Ross. Bea and Turner had three children whom they chose to be theirs: Perian Elizabeth Ross Cabral (John), Carowyn Rose Ross Osborne, and Turner Gerstner Ross (Tamara). Other living relatives are her sister, Florence Selinger (Dick) of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada, and her brother-in-law, Ret. Colonel Thomas P. Ross, grandsons, Steven Brandon-Ross Loper (St. Pete, FL), Evan Leonard Ross (Arvada, CO), Logan Daves (Garland, TX), great-grandchildren, Avery Lucy Loper, Cameron Smith Loper, and several nieces and nephews.

Bea was a classically trained pianist in school and regularly played the organ for her childhood church in Dodsland. She was educated as a Registered Nurse (RN) at the Regina Grey Nuns’ School of Nursing in Regina, Saskatchewan. She moved to the United States in 1952, where she continued her nursing career. She met her husband, Turner, while working in Eureka, CA, and they married on September 15, 1956. Turner was transferred to many areas of the country with varied plywood companies, and Bea would continue her career as a nurse. They later moved to Dallas, TX, where she attended travel school and opened her own travel agency in 1987, and worked with many WWE wrestling figures. She and Turner traveled the world. After the sale of the agency, they retired, and she became an auditor for Motel 6 and an agent for H&R Block. Bea and Turner traveled to many states and the Caribbean to determine where they wanted to live in retirement. Due to Bea’s asthma, they decided to settle in Tucson, AZ, in the winter and in Turner’s childhood home of Livingston, MT, for the summer months. They reconnected with friends and had a wonderful time for 10 years. Upon Turner’s death in 2008, Bea moved to Homewood, AL, to live with her daughter and her husband. Bea quickly met new friends and joined Trinity United Methodist Church. She was also a regular at the Homewood Senior Center, where she developed a circle of close friends. So many were drawn to Bea with her infectious personality. We will forever remember her laughter, her comforting embrace, and the many cherished memories we created as a family.

Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of love and compassion will live on in our hearts and in the lives of all she touched. She never met a stranger. We are grateful for the precious time we shared with her and will carry her memory with us always. Rest in peace, Mom. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Bea was a joy to be with and we had many great conversations over the years. I am her brother-in-law and felt she was a perfect addition to our family. She would always call me on my birthday. Most important, she comforted my ailing daughter for years with love and medical information. I’ll miss one of the most gracious person in our lives.
