Wilco “Buddy” Keener

Wilco Emerson “Buddy” Keener of Lumberport, WV age 61, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023 in Alabaster, Alabama. He was born on January 27, 1962 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to his mother, Naomi Bartlett, who has preceded him in passing.

Buddy is also preceded in death by his stepfather, Carl Bartlett and brother, Howard Keener and maternal grandparents Ruth Virginia Sigley and Lewis Keener.

He is survived by his daughters Denita Whittington (Anthony), and Amber Keener; step son, Lee Perry (Deeonca); grandchildren, Caydon, Cameron, Hannah, DeEzra, Abraim, Alijah, Wesley, James, Aaliyah & Charley; his sisters Jenny Hagan, Sandra Martin (Dick), Soundra Audia (Jim), Becky Knight (Chris) and brother Larry Ganoe (Missy). Also several nephews and nieces.

Buddy graduated from Lincoln High school. He was a painter for Joseph Oliverio for 17 years. He enjoyed his job and loved to paint. He painted many churches, businesses and homes in the area. He was proud of his work.

He loved to fish as a hobby. He was also a very good at drawing. He enjoyed watching westerns and spending time with his friends and family. He collected roosters because as anyone who knew him knew he could sound just like a rooster. He was funny and enjoyed making others around him laugh.

A celebration of life will be held on July 30, 2023 2:00-5:00 at Shinnston pool at Ferguson park beside the pool. 
 Your children are welcome to go to the pool during this time.
