Wanda Holcomb

Wanda Holcomb, age 78, of Jemison, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024. She was born on October 3, 1945, to her parents, Joe and Mae Crowson. Wanda was a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church of Montevallo. She was preceded in death by her son, Chris Holcomb.

She is survived by her loving husband, Doug Holcomb of 54 years; 2 grandsons, Avery and Alex Holcomb, and great-grandson, Waylon Lee Holcomb; sisters, Jean Gurley (Dennis), Barbara Backes, and Linda McKinney (Jim); and brother, Jerry Crowson.

Services will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the Providence Baptist Church of Montevallo. Visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Wanda will be laid to rest in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Allen Foster will be officiating.

    I grew up knowing Wanda and Doug at church. When Brother Jasper Edwards came to Providence the Holcomb family were instant friends. Mark has just as many fond memories of Wanda as I do. We are saddened by this loss and are constantly in prayer for Doug and his family. We pray thT God will lift up this family and comfort them with Devine healing and mercy.
