Shirley Jean Drage Hamilton

Shirley Jean Drage Hamilton, 89 years old, passed away on August 17, 2023. Shirley was born to William and Clara Drage, in Orrville, Ohio, on November 9, 1933. She graduated from Orrville High School in 1951. She was a proud Alumni of Orrville High and she cherished memories of the school, her classmates, and friends. She never missed a reunion over the last 60 years. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, Mimi, aunt and friend. She married the love of her life James Keith Hamilton on February 28, 1958. They moved all over the country and eventually settled in Montgomery, Alabama for many years, before making their permanent home in Alabaster, Alabama.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents William and Clara Drage; her brothers Harry Gardner (Nora); Paul Drage (Betty); sister Marie Nussbaum (Frank); two of her granddaughters, Lauren Elizabeth Hamilton, and Mary Adalyn “Addy” Hamilton.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 65 years, James Keith Hamilton; her sons David Wayne Hamilton (Kathy), and Darin Scot Hamilton; her grandson David Payton Hamilton; her granddaughter Kristin Nicole Hamilton; her great granddaughter Adalyn-Gaines “Addy-Gaines” Hamilton Hatcher; many brother and sister in laws, and several nieces and nephews.

 At a later date the family will have a memorial service to honor her life at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit in Alabaster, Alabama.
