Roy M. Faucett
Roy McDonald Faucett was born on June 12, 1933 and grew up in Woodlawn, AL before he joined the military in the 1950’s. He was proud to have made it to 90 years old and told everyone he was “old as dirt.” Roy was a Korean War Veteran and received combat medals for his duty. He was a loyal and loving husband to his wife Betty for 62 years and an amazing father to his children, Julie, Joey, and Tony.
Roy was a hardworking man, and when you met him, you knew he was a man of his word. Since being retired he enjoyed gardening, breakfast at Hardee’s with his buddies, and his grandchildren. It was in his nature to joke and aggravate, and he enjoyed every minute of it. Roy was a great storyteller and always entertained everyone he was around.
Roy was a member of The Branch at Mission Hills and was known as “The Jokester” in his Sunday School class. Roy passed away peacefully at home with family on January 18th.
Roy is survived by his wife Betty; children, Julie Crawford, Joey Faucett (Darlene), Tony Faucett (Tammy); grandchildren, Todd Faucett (Amanda), Andrea Faucett, Patrick Crawford, Aleigha Crawford; great-grandchildren, Bryce Norman, and Elias Garzarek.
He made a beautiful life for his family and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers please donate to The Branch at Mission Hills Church.
