Robert “Bob” Stephen Trussell

Robert ” Bob” Stephen Trussell, 74, of Montevallo, Alabama passed away, following a lengthy battle with cancer, on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

He was a native of Texas and earned a degree in engineering from Mississippi State University. Bob also served his country in the United States Air Force. Throughout his career, Bob worked as a Safety Engineer, but his true passions were music and woodcarving. He belonged to the Southern Appalachian Dulcimer Association (SADA) and the Tannehill Woodcarvers Association. Bob was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Montevallo.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Loretta Hughes Trussell; brother-in-law Reggie Lee Hughes of Lockesburgh, AR; two nieces, Heather Palczynski and her family of Hot Springs, AR, along with Amanda Hughes and her family of Texarkana, TX.

At Bob’s request, a memorial service will not be held, and he will be interred at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
