Phillip Jewel Wilcox, Jr.

Phillip Jewel Wilcox Jr. “Lil Man” age 32, passed away at Shelby Baptist Hospital. He went to Calera High School and was an exceptionally knowledgeable automotive parts specialist. Phillip spent the majority of his career as an assistant manager of O’Reilly’s Auto Parts, but most recently found purpose and enjoyment as a service advisor for Long Lewis Ford Quick Lane. He loved anything automotive, playing video games with his friends, and spending quality time with his wife, parents, and loved ones as much as possible. Anyone who knew his personality knew how much he loved some good dark humor, spending time with and traveling with his wife. He may have looked intimidating, but he was a gentle loving giant.

Phillip is preceded in death by his grandparents, Horace and Ruby Carden, Jewel Cates- Henderson and John Cates, and his beloved fur child Beaux and an angel baby.

He is survived by his loving wife Brook Wilcox of Calera; parents, Tiger and Teresa Wilcox; sister Tiffany Wilcox; five-year-old nephew Brayden and three-year-old niece Breanna; father-in-law and mother-in-law Brandon and Melissa Wray of Oklahoma; and sister-in-law Ella Wray of Oklahoma.

My husband and I loved seeing Phillip at O’Reilly’s! He and my husband always had long and humorous conversations about Chevy square bodies and he was always helpful to me when I’d come in clueless.
It is rare and often unheard of that someone makes a mark on total strangers with genuine kindness, but Phillip did.
His kindness will be greatly missed.

    Teresa & Tiger
My heart goes out for all of you and what you’re having to go through right now with his little wife. I pray that God will keep his protective arms around all of you and watch over you and help you make it through this . Just remember, you will see your Little Man again, this isn’t the end, on the other side when you meet inside those pearly gates. Take Care and we are across the street if you need us. Love You both 💔🙏✝️🙏
