Paul Crim

On December 16, 2024 the world lost a little bit of its shine when the coolest man in the room finally exited the building. It’s hard to summarize a life like Paul Crim’s because there just simply wasn’t anyone like him. Born March 31, 1957 Paul was Alabaster born and bred. Although the only child between his parents, his place in a big blended family was as the baby. His early years weren’t always easy but the life he managed to live turned out beautiful.

Married to the love of his life, Frankie, for 36 years they built a life of love, fun and laughter. Paul was the ultimate “girl dad” and was blessed to have two daughters who thought he was nothing short of Superman. He was a God-fearing man, the biggest football fan you could meet for Alabama and THS, who would trash talk with the best of them, and anything he owned that had wheels and a motor was his pride and joy. He was passionate about many hobbies that spanned from Stephen King novels to pumping iron and never did anything half way. He lived life all in.

His greatest joy came from being Pop Pop. With 4 grandbabies to love on he poured all the love he could into them. Pop Pop did not know the word “no” and was going to be sure they had everything they could ever need. If you knew him it was no secret that those 4 babies were his greatest accomplishment.

Paul is preceded in death by his own parents, Elwood Lee Crim and Virginia Ary Crim, his beautiful wife and soulmate Frankie, and their three fur babies: Ali, Gertie and Ella.

He is survived by his two daughters, Chelsea (Wayne) Stevenson and Abby (Noah) Hosmer, four grand-babies: Liam & Owen Stevenson, Joselyn & Deacon Hosmer, his in-laws Pete and Theresa Peterson and sister-in-law Kate Shoupe or “bug” as he always referred to her by, and nephews Dakota Filyaw and Seth Shoupe. There will be a Celebration of Life service held on Saturday, 12/21/2024. A time of visiting will be held from 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. with a small service to follow at First United Methodist Church of Alabaster.
