Dewey Edward Hogg “Sonny”

Dewey Edward Hogg (Sonny) 87, of Bessemer, AL, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026 after a long battle with health problems. He was surrounded by family and friends at the time of his passing. Sonny started out with humble beginnings and worked to make a good life with family, friends, neighbors and the community.

 He will be remembered and missed by many.

Visitation will be Friday, July 24, 2026 at 1pm with a small service to follow at 2pm at Greenpond Baptist Church, off Eastern Valley Rd. in Woodstock, AL. Sonny will be buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Bessemer, AL. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Greenpond Baptist Church where he last attended or to Loveless Park Baptist Church now known as Grace Life in McCalla, AL, his previous Church.
