Carl Stephen Bryant

Carl Stephen Bryant, age 72, passed away in his home surrounded by loved ones on August 15, 2024. He was born in Saint Bethlehem, TN on February 10,1952. He married the love of his life, Charlotte Bryant in 1993. They settled in Shelby, Alabama in 1998 after raising their three children. Pappy, as he was affectionately known by many, loved music, singing, playing his guitar and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He also enjoyed his peach tea and a dance with his bride. You could always find him on the veranda manning the grill or eating sweets. More than all he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and instilled in them a love for Bigfoot.

Pappy is preceded in death by his father, Carl Rufus Bryant and his mother, Dorothy M Bryant. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Charlotte “Nene” Bryant; daughters, Jenny King (Clint) and Sarah Thomas (Tyler); son, Joshua Bryant; 5 grandchildren, Cheyenne Crumpton (Clint), Dawson Bryant, Griffin Thomas, Major Thomas and Casey Gayle Schrull; 3 great-grandchildren, Tripp Crumpton, Jett Crumpton and Cooper Crumpton.

 A celebration of life will be held on August 24, 2024, at Charter Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 11:00-12:00 followed by a service at 12:00. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that a donation be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
