Bobby Lee Scott

Bobby Lee Scott, 85, of Calera, went home to be with his Savior on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. Loving husband, best Dad ever, one amazing Pop, brother, friend; these are just a small sample of the titles Bobby was to those who knew and loved him. Always smiling, full of laughter and kindness. Always willing to help others. Bobby was all of this and so much more. He is greatly missed!!

Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Robert Scott, and his mother, Iris McGee Scott.  He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Brenda Scott; his daughters, Robin Neal (Chris) and Jennifer Gowin (Geoff); and his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Reese Gowin, Carson Gowin and Brantlee Gowin. He is also survived by his brother, Danny Scott (Nancy), three nephews, one niece, numerous cousins, countless friends and a cherished Faith Family.

Bobby was a faithful member and Deacon at Northside Baptist Church in Calera and served God faithfully for many years there in many roles. His favorite was by far Preschool Sunday School teacher. Bobby loved kids of all ages because deep down he was still a boy at heart!

A visitation will be held Friday, August 18, 2023 at Northside Baptist Church from 6 pm to 8 pm. He will lie in state on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, followed by a service at 10:30 am. Bobby will be laid to rest in Salem City Cemetery in Calera, AL. Bill Collum will be officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Northside Baptist Church, Children’s Ministry, PO Box 1802, Calera, AL 35040. Services entrusted to Charter Funeral Home.
