Janette B. Allen

Janette B. Allen, 89, passed away on the evening of February 17, 2026. Janette was born in Dogwood, AL on February 18, 1936 to Cecil and Flora (Goggins) Boothe.

She married her lifelong love, MSGT Lloyd T. Allen, on March 5, 1953. They shared 60 years together and had 2 daughters, Beverly Ann born in 1954 and Tamala Lynn in 1964.

She was a loving, down to earth, strong, funny, and feisty Christian woman who for 20 years traveled around the world with Lloyd as he served in the USAF and raised their daughters. Janette loved traveling, family, Bluegrass music, bowling, and meeting new people of all cultures. Janette had friends all across the United States and in several countries.

Janette was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who gave selflessly to others. People just loved her. She lived in Newport News and Hampton, Virginia; Tachikawa, Japan; Armada and Mount Clemens, Michigan; Bourne, Massachusetts; Okinawa, Japan; Trenton, New Jersey; and Mobile and Montevallo, AL.

She traveled all across the U.S., including Kodiak Island, AK, Hawaii, Canada, and the Philippines. Her favorite place of all of these was Virginia, but she also loved crossing the Blue Ridge Mountains and Parkway, seeing the wildlife, especially the bears. Janette loved bears.

Janette was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Flora Boothe; husband, Lloyd Talmadge Allen; daughter, Tamala Lynn Allen-Martin; sister, Janice F. Goggins; and sister, Shelby J. Harkins.

Janette is survived by her daughter, Beverly A. Angel (Roland); granddaughter, Amanda E. Lawley; great grandchildren, Bryson Lawley, Aubrey Lawley, and Grayson Lawley; sister, Dottie Lou Holdridge; and brother, James Ray (Gail) Boothe; and several other family members.

Janette will be laid to rest on March 2, 2026 at Alabama National Cemetery (Montevallo) with a committal service at 1:15. Close family and friends who wish to see her before the graveside service can contact Beverly Angel at 205-617-5638 or Amanda Lawley at 205-240-0879.
