Evelyn Gail Cummings

Evelyn Gail Cummings, age 81, passed away in the comfort of her own home on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 25, 1944, to her parents, Mervin “Judge” and Margaret Verla Mae Harrell, both have preceded her in death. Evelyn is also preceded by her loving husband, James Bruce Cummings, and children, Jeffrey Alan and Kathy Lynn Cummings. She is survived by her daughter, Jana Leigh Cummings; son, James Brandon Cummings; grandchildren, Morganne Bailey Jones, James Blake Cummings, Jaydon Brock Cummings and Shiloh Parker; and great granddaughters, Myckala Walton and Myckiah Walton.

Eveyln was the kindest and loving soul. She was the most selfless and gracious person. She loved her kids, grandkids and Great grand kids more than anything in this world. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Hickory Hills Worship Center in Alabaster, AL. A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. followed by a service at 2 p.m. Evelyn will be laid to rest beside her husband in Elliottsville Cemetery.  Brother Jim McCoy and Dr. Donnell Brown will be officiating.
