Beverly Ann Klamer

Beverly was born on April 8, 1936, in Manchester, GA and passed from this life into eternal life on July 16, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene W. Klamer; her parents, Clyatt and Edna McLaughlin; her sister Barbara Holley and her stepson, Jerry Klamer. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Adams; her son, Scott Nix and his wife Rhonda, whom she loved like a daughter; stepsons Randy and Gene Klamer and stepdaughters, Linda Hallerman and Kim Brannigan (Brian); along with 6 beautiful grandchildren; Jeremy Nix (Jennifer), Shawn Adams (Krissy), Matthew Klamer (Krissie), Kyle Klamer and Tyler and Kyla Brannigan, 6 wonderful great-grandchildren; Ava Nix, Alijah, Ryder and Lennon Adams and Braiden and Lilly Klamer.

Beverly was full of life and loved all beautiful things from art to nature. For many years she was a member of the American Hemerocallis Society Region 14, serving as President in 1991 – 1992 and was editor of The Dixie Daylily for many years. Their home in Hoover was a national daylily display garden and she and Gene enjoyed hybridizing many new varieties of the daylily. She also enjoyed art, not taking it up until after her retirement from BE&K and going on to teach youth art classes at Lindart’s Studio and Gallery. She also enjoyed painting with friends, having paint parties with Focus Church Women’s Ministries, and giving of her time and talent.

After her husband retired, they moved to Shelby, AL where she came to know many friends and fellow believers at Focus Church and at the Shelby Baptist Association where she enjoyed being at their thrift store, Earthly Treasures. You never knew what new treasure she might find and bestow on you.

Beverly loved the Lord and her Church Family. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Focus Church Building Fund as an expression of sympathy.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Focus Church, 680 Highway 308, Shelby, AL 35143, (corner of Hwy 47 and 308) on Saturday, July 27th. Visitation @ 11 am with the service @ 12 pm.
