Sandra Joyce Conner

Sandra Joyce Conner, 78, of Maplesville, Alabama, peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 17, 2025. She was born on October 31, 1946, in Blakely, Georgia, to Luther and Hattie McKinnon as the youngest of their 14 children.

Sandra was married to the love of her life, Larry Conner, for 43 wonderful years until his passing in January 2017. She often said that even though Larry had passed, they were still married in her heart, and their bond was a source of strength and comfort to her throughout her life.

Sandra was a proud mother to her two daughters, Darlene Mussen and Kathy Conner. Darlene, who preceded her in death, will be remembered as an important part of Sandra’s life. Kathy, devoted to her mother’s care and well-being, was a constant source of love and support. Sandra is also survived by her four grandchildren, Paul Garno II, Meagan Mussen, Zachary Mussen, and Courtney Hertlein; and her eight great-grandchildren, Liam Hertlein, Payton Garno, Liliana Black, Grayson Garno, Charlotte Hertlein, Guinevere Black, Eli Hertlein, and Hayden Garno.

Sandra dedicated her life to caring for her family, finding purpose and joy in being the glue that held everyone together. She was fiercely protective and loyal, a strong-willed and loving woman whose faith guided her throughout her life. Sandra cherished her time telling stories of treasured memories, passing down wisdom, and sharing her love of the Lord with her family and friends.

A private celebration of Sandra’s life will be held with her immediate family on Saturday,

January 25, 2025. Her legacy of love, strength, and faith will live on in the hearts of her family, as promised in Isaiah 40:31:

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Sandra will be deeply missed, but her love and faith will forever remain a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her.
