Mattie Dickens

November 15, 1934-October 24th, 2024

Mattie Dickens, age 89, of Clanton, Alabama, went into glory October 24,2024. One of 14 children, she was raised on Smokey Road and attended Thompson School. She was the Manager of the Alabaster Senior Citizens Center for many years. She loved Gospel music, and her faith was very important to her. She was devoted to her family and always spoke her mind.

She is preceded in death by her parents J. A. & Mollie Spain; stepmother, Ruth Spain and 9 brothers and sisters. She is also preceded in death by her grandson Nicholas Brasher.

 She is survived by sisters, Jimmie Kizziah, Frances Hinds, Shirley Brasher and brother Bobby Spain. She is also survived by daughter, Nancy Brasher (Danny) and sons Eddie Taff (Cindy) and Donnie Dickens (Jennifer), She is also survived by grandchildren, Shea Graham (Billy), Lauren Brasher, Nick Taff, Hailey McGhee (Joe), Michael Dickens, Luke Dickens, Annabeth Dickens, and Olivia Dickens. Great Grandchildren, Case Graham, Lily McGhee, and Emery Dickens. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mattie especially enjoyed riding with niece Barbara Hatcher on special outings.

The Celebration of Life service will be Friday November 1st at 11:00am at Charter Funeral Home in Calera. Pastor Donnie Dickens officiate.

    Donnie this is Ms Yvonne’s daughter June we are so sorry to hear about your mama she was a precious soul. If we had a known about the the funeral arrangements we would have come but did not find out until today at 3:40 November 1st 2024.
