Ronald Eugene Johnson
Ronald Eugene Johnson “Bruno”, age 85, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Eutaw, AL on January 4, 1939, to his parents James and Ruby Johnson, both have preceded him in death. Ronald is survived by his son, Scott Allen Burns; daughters, Roni Lee Johnson and Rhonda Lynn Phillips (Shane); brother, Kenneth Rex Johnson; 8 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.
Ronald went to Sumter County High School where he was the quarterback on the Wildcat Football Team, pitcher for the baseball team, and a high scorer on the basketball team. He was given a basketball scholarship to East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, MS where he received his associates degree. Ronald is a veteran of the US Army and was stationed in Germany. He then went on to work in the construction industry until retirement. What he was most known for, however, was the love he had for his family. Ronnie was a great example of God’s love to all who knew him.
Services will be held in the Charter Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. A visitation will be held at 11 a.m. followed by a service at 12 p.m. Ronald will be laid to rest with honors in the Alabama National Cemetery at 1:15 p.m. Bro. Brandon Burns will be officiating.
