Logan Philip Brown
Logan Philip Brown a.k.a. Logan Philip Van Dam Daughtry, 15, gained his wings January 4, 2020, at his family’s apartment in Birmingham, AL after an intense 11-month battle with osteosarcoma.
Logan entered this world September 19, 2004, in Virginia Beach, Virginia to his mother Samantha Tootle and biological father, Benjamin Brown. What Logan loved most was to make all of those around him smile. This was often achieved through silly dance moves and incredibly awful jokes that forced laughter out of us all. Logan was always a sensitive and caring soul. He loved reading, drawing, swimming, photography, and especially gaming. Though Logan was homeschooled during the last few years of his life, he was still loved and surrounded by many friends. He especially loved hanging out with his best friend since the age of 3, Daniel Fricks. Logan was a camp counselor in training in Topeka, Kansas, where he became CPR certified. He also participated in East Montgomery Baseball every season and was proud of his achievements as well as being a part of a team.
Logan is survived by his mother and father, Samantha and Christopher Daughtry; his younger brother Corbin Daughtry; his maternal grandparents, Teresa Hutchinson Foster, Rex and Kaye Tootle; his paternal grandparents, Philip and Teresa Brown, Danna and Scott Daughtry, and Gloria Lambert; his paternal great-grandparents, Marie England, Anne Carroll, Ferris and Freddy Daughtry; biological father, Benjamin Brown; aunt and uncle, Tracy and Greg Graham; His aunts, Adrienne Tootle; Savannah Daughtry; Ashley Silva; Megan Brown; Angi Gauldin; his cousins, Aniya Silva, Shelby Maddox, Ambry, TJ, and Marcus Graham, Luke and Dallas Daughtry, along with many other loving aunts, uncles, and cousins extended through the Hutchinson, Tootle, Brown, and Daughtry families.
We are comforted knowing that those family members who passed before him were able to greet him at the gates of heaven.
A homecoming celebration will take place at Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church in Wetumpka, AL on January 11, 2020, 10:30 a.m. followed by a gathering of family and friends at the home of Tracy and Greg Graham. Knowing Logan would want everyone to be comfortable, the family has requested casual dress for the service, including Marvel t-shirts and jeans or even in costume.
The family would also like to extend our thanks and appreciation to all of the doctors and nurses of Children’s of Alabama and MD Anderson, the amazing NEGU, Make-A-Wish, Hope for Autumn, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, and the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundations, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Family Reach, and aTeam Ministries.
My prayers are with all of you at this so hard to endure time.
Logan I will always remember your sweet face and how you took care of your little brother when you came to AOS with your grandma Danna. May you spread your wings and fly like high like an Angel. Untill we meet again. I Love you always.

Sam my heart is breaking for all of you. I am sure JenJen has her arms around him.
I send my condolences to the family. I will be at the memorial. I have been sending positive vibes and I want you to know Logan has been on my mind lately.
I once read somewhere “people will forget what you said, what you did and perhaps what you wore, but they will never forget how you made them feel.” Logan you are loved and adored by so many and I’ll always remember how you made me feel (welcomed and loved as one of your long-lost cousins) when we finally met at Tin Lizzy’s for lunch, that day. I’m so encouraged by your attitude and strength. Say hi to Jessie and Papa for me, and all the rest of our family. Love and peace to you and your family. Your cuz, Michelle
We are so sorry for your loss but our prayers have been with through the last 11 months and will continue to be with you. We praise God for your knowledge Logan is in heaven now and will have no more sadness, suffering or pain.
