Jasper Thomas Lill, Jr

Jasper Thomas Lill, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 22, 2018 surrounded by his family. Jasper, affectionately known as Jack or J.T., was born Feb. 22, 1936 in Birmingham, AL to his late parents, Jasper Thomas Sr. and Ina Marie Lill. After marrying his sweetheart, Myra, he enlisted in the US Army where he served 24 years before he retired as a Sergeant First Class, Military Policeman serving deployments in Korea and Vietnam. He went on to wear many hats in his lifetime, and he wore them all well. Jack was an ordained minister, an avid softball player, a private investigator and Chief of Police to name a few. For the many that knew and loved J.T., he will be remembered for his always cheerful demeanor, abundant zest for life, dedication to his work and overwhelming love for his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Myra, his cherished daughter, Pamela (Darryl), his son, Randy (Tracy), his dear grandchildren, Tracy, Kasey (Luke), Jeannie (Josh), Tyler, Corey and Jake, his treasured great-grandchildren, Jack, Rian, Ian, Abel, Reid and Will, and his adoring siblings. He truly loved and cared for the many members of his extensive family. He is preceded in death by his son, Bobby, and his brother Andy. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, September 26 beginning with visitation at 10:30 for family, 11:00 for friends and his service will begin at 12 at Charter Funeral Home in Alabaster. His body will be laid to rest at 1:15 in Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
