Gregory Mark Shullek

Gregory Mark Shullek of Huntsville, AL, passed away May 7th, 2025, at his home and returned to his Lord and Savior.
Born July 11, 1949, to George and Charlotte Shullek, Greg spent most of his childhood in Rochester, NY. Greg was a loving father, husband, grandfather, friend and veteran, all titles he took very seriously. He is survived by his wife Sandra Henshaw, and his three daughters Gretchen Shullek, Cheri Shullek, and Heidi Hathorne, as well as his son-in-law Ronnie Hathorne, and his grandchildren, Alex and Ryan Geracitano, Michael Snowberger Jr, and Avery and Miles Hathorne. He is survived by his brother Joe Shullek and is preceded in death by his sister Cheryl and her husband, his life long best friend, Dennis Wrights.
Greg accomplished many things in his life. He served proudly as a medic in the Army, during the Vietnam War. He married his former wife Kathryn and worked for General Electric for many years. He then moved to Portville, NY and built a family and home, where he later owned and operated ASAP Appliance in Olean, NY, before moving South later in life. Greg loved living life to the fullest, and in his younger years, was an avid hunter, fisherman, bowler, hockey player, musician and much more. He especially loved the Eagles, he thoroughly enjoyed his Harley, his Vegas trips, and great times with friends, who became family. His best friend in life, and brother in spirit, Bobby Songin, and his father Dennis Songin, who was like a second father, were an integral part of his life.
In the words of Frank Sinatra, he would say “I did it my way”. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
A committal service will be held at the Alabama National Cemetery on Friday, June 6th, 2025 at 2 pm, the immediate family would ask that you spend a moment of silence in his memory. Rather than flowers that fade, donations can be made in his name, to Veteran’s organizations, such as the Wounded Warrior Project, or any Veteran’s charity in your area or of your choice.
