Ellis “Trevae” Richard Lacey De Rodriguez

Ellis “Trevae” Richard Lacey De Rodriguez, a loving wife, mother, grand and great- grandmother age 78, went to be with The Lord on Saturday, September 20,2025. She graduated from Spencer High School in the year 1966 and joined the U.S. Army afterwards. Arts and crafts were her hobbies, and she could do anything from sewing buttons on sweaters to making custom Christmas baskets she’d sell at her local military base. She enjoyed reading novels, always laughed at her “mom jokes”, enjoyed dancing and had an affinity for Asian art pieces. Trevae made bedtime special when she’d sing nursery rhymes alongside her children and continued the tradition with grandchildren and great-grands.

Trevae is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Rumaldo Rodriguez-Rivera; parents, Johnnie Lee and Cecil Willie Lacey; daughter and son-in-law, Cora Dawn Angelia Rodriguez-Wilson and Randy Wilson; granddaughter, Emily Trevae Walker-Rodriguez and sister, Cora Louise Mayfield.

Trevae is survived by her children, Gabriel Rodriguez (Maria), Johnny Rumaldo Francisco Rodriguez-Lacey, Tuesday Nicole Rodriguez-Lacey, Natalie Felicita Rodriguez, Raymond Moore (Trinell); grandchildren, Randi Rodriguez-Wilson, Rumaldo Gabriel Rodriguez, Zariah Rayanna Pitts; great grandchildren, Brian Rodriguez, Maddison Rodriguez-Cook, Ensleigh Wilson, Randy Lee Richard Rodriguez-Wilson and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. A visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. She will be laid to rest with Honors in the Alabama National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Father Thomas Kelly and Father Shobhan Singareddy will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Mass said in her name at any Catholic church.
