Douglas L. LeSueur

Douglas L. LeSueur, 73, of Calera, AL. entered fully into the presence of his Lord and Savior Sunday June 18, 2017.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and adored by his nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 20th at Calera Baptist Church, 600 Whippoorwill Lane, Calera, AL from 5:00-8:30 pm.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 11:00 am at Calera Baptist Church with Brother Jason Jarvis and Brother Stephen Cannon officiating.  Burial will follow at Shelby Memorial Gardens in Calera, AL with Charter Funeral Home directing.  For 32 years he was the proud owner of Shelby County Pest Control.  He was a loyal, God-fearing, dedicated Deacon and member of Calera Baptist Church.  In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Good Shepherds Ministries, a ministry Doug loved and faithfully supported (www.gsmi-Haiti.org), or Calera Baptist Church Building Fund principle.  Doug was born August 20, 1943 and raised in North Birmingham, and was a graduate of Phillips High School. On June 24, 1963, he married the love of his life, Hilda (Bullard) LeSueur, his wife of 54 years. His loving, surviving children include sons Ken (Marnie) & Kevin (Michelle);  daughter Karen Gay (Mickey), grandchildren Summer, Shae Ferguson (Will), Gracyn, and Jackson; sister Beulah McCleney; and a host of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents Ethel (Stiles) and W.G. LeSueur;  brothers William Dwight, Everett Lee, Joe Ray , James Paul, Cecil Wayne; sisters O’Bera Lee, Mary Cole, Martha Rice, Ruby Mahaffee, and Irene Joyce McCay.
