Doris Faye Loden Branton

branton-doris-oval-jpegDoris Faye Loden Branton passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016 after a lengthy illness, she was surrounded by her family.  Doris Branton was born in Hamilton , Alabama on October 17, 1931 and graduated from Hayleyville High School and lived in Birmingham most of her life. Doris is preceded in death by her parents Larkin and Ethel Loden, beloved son Mike Branton and son-in-law Ron Smith. Doris was a career banker, beginning her career with First National Bank of Birmingham, and then AmSouth Bank.  She mentored and trained many bankers over her lengthy career.  Her banking knowledge, work ethic and soft generous demeanor were passed along to numerous others over the years.  She retired from AmSouth Bank in 1994 after 44 years. Her quiet, quick wit often caught one off guard. Her love, care and awareness of others is exemplified in a favorite story that combined her love of shopping with a search for “two pocket” clothing for a niece. Doris is survived by her husband of 63 years, Daniel W. Branton, daughter Debbie Parrott (John), and most favorite grandson, Patrick R. Smith.  Grandsons, Brent Parrott (Brandye) and Wade Parrott (Leslie) who have been a large part of her life in later years and four adored great-grandchildren;  Reagan, Ben, Zachary and Cooper Parrott.  She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Spina (Marion) of Birmingham, Alabama and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 11:00 at Charter Funeral Home in Calera, Alabama, with burial at the Veterans National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama at 1:15.
