Dixie Juanita Thomas Lamb
Dixie Juanita Thomas Lamb, age 91 passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was blessed with a long happy life filled with many friends. A truly beautiful, loving, Southern Belle. Dixie was born in Sylacauga, Alabama and moved to Birmingham at the age of 10. She attended Woodlawn High School. She is predeceased by parents, Walter and Dixie Ree Thomas and husband, Major Clarence Joseph “Tom” Lamb. Her career included work in the legal field with TCI, Senator John Sparkman in Washington, D.C., Rives and Peterson Law Firm and Torchmark Corporation in Birmingham. She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Alabaster. She is survived by son, Thomas Joseph Lamb (Sandra); granddaughter, Jordan Lamb; grandson, Matthew Owens (Whitney); great grandson, Cayden Owens and loving cousins in Sylacauga and Clanton where she spent her childhood. Visitation with the family will be 11:30am -1:30pm, Friday, March 31, 2017 at Charter Funeral Home in Alabaster. A 2pm Graveside Service will follow at Alabama National Cemetery.
