Charles Pinkney Jones, Jr.

Charles P. Jones passed away April 7, 2018.  Mr. Jones was born August 27, 1923 in Alexander City, Alabama, the son of Charles P. Jones, Sr. and Bessie L. Carter Jones.

Mr. Jones was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European theater with the 961st Engineer Maintenance Company.  Following the war, he went to work for the Liberty National Life Insurance Company where he retired after thirty years.  In his retirement, he began a produce business.

Mr. Jones is survived by his daughter Judith Ann (Sherrell) White of Plantersville; 3 granddaughters, Angela Hicks, Jennifer (Heath) Blackmon, and Amanda (John) Giles; 5 great grandchildren, Maddie Giles, Marlie Giles, Jeslyn Blackmon, Kendrick Blackmon, and Ryder Giles, all of Chilton County.

Mr. Jones was predeceased by his parents and four sisters, Lloyd Jones, Avoline LeCroy, Mary Charles Harris and Elnora Langston.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., immediately followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., both held in the chapel of Charter Funeral Home.
